How to get there
South Pelion is pretty remote. The nice thing about this is that the area doesn't get many (non-Greek) tourists. The downside is that getting there and getting around is harder. While Skiathos, which is technically the closest airport, has Taxis and tourist infrastucture, there really isn't anything available in our area on the mainland. You don't want to rely on the bus that makes its way across the peninsula once a day.
We therefore highly recommend to come via Athens or Thessaloniki and rent a car. Cars are very affordable and easy to share. We will connect people with similar travel plans to form car groups. If you need help coordinating, reach out to us.
Flying in
Getting around
With a car, getting around is really easy. Depending on your accommodation, everything (beaches, restaurants, etc.) will be within a 10–25 minute radius, if not in walking distance. We will arrange for transportation to and from our main festivities from each of the selected accommodations. Transport to attend optional activities should be coordinated individually. Please note that the mountain roads are winding, so please drive extra carefully, especially at night.
By boat
Of course, there is always the option to skip the driving and arrive by boat. Boats can be chartered in Skiathos or Milina, and since we are in a traditional coastal area with lots of coastal villages, getting on land is easy. Platania has a brand new harbour and the coast is lined with small, sheltered bays to anchor. We're happy to connect people interested in sharing a boat.
